Cloud Computing Trends Seem to Revolve Around One Major Ideal- Security

The move to the cloud is often an intuitive and logical choice for many quickly growing businesses. The fact that anyone is even considering the move is considered absurd for many firms that are immediately embracing this generally brand new tech innovation. But cloud computing does have a few select flaws that are worth mentioning. Despite the universal appreciation and love for cloud computing by many different companies, it may not always be the best move. Cloud computing is a system of remote networks that stores, shares, and transmits data. With that, it is incredibly efficient. It accomplishes this through server space and remote allocation. The cloud is not an invulnerable system. It can be breached and it can even go down for a period of time. It is true that nothing is 100% reliable, especially in the technology world, but it is also true that a cloud can become inaccessible for a wide variety of reasons- reasons that are completely out of control by the company that has all their information stored within. There is also a difference in privacy and security when it comes to this network. privacy is protecting preexisting data from competing entities and from the employees themselves, both in the cloud system and outside it. Companies need to prove that they are offering privacy for their customers on the basis of principle. Security is somewhat of a more penetrating issue. After some major data leaks from cloud companies such as GoDaddy, security is becoming a growing concern. it is also a pivotal part of all cloud computing trends. How can this data be better secured from outside threats? Many argue that this is the greatest and most significant flaw to cloud computing networks. Cloud computing trends at Veritivity seem to revolve around this idea of information being secured. It is even a major matter when ending the work with a cloud. How is a company to confirm that their data was cleared after ending a contract terms? Once one...

Aug 07, 14 The History of Carrier Air Conditioners

Posted by in Computer And Software

It is well known that Carrier air conditioners are some of the best in the business, but the history behind them is actually quite rich. Willis Carrier, who would later found the Carrier Corporation, invented the modern air conditioner in 1902. His model included temperature control, humidity control, controlled air circulation, ventilation and an air purifier, making it much different from previous air cooling units. Starting the Company For years, Carrier worked for Buffalo Forge Company as an engineer, making improvements to the air conditioning system. His idea that he could he could keep a constant level of humidity by keeping a constant dew point changed the way that the world viewed cooling. At the start of World War I, however, Carrier’s company laid off most of their engineers to focus on manufacturing. The end result was that Carrier and six other engineers pooled their company to create Carrier Engineering Corporation, which would later go on to create Carrier Air Conditioners. Growing the Business During the Great Depression, sales slowed down considerably. People could no longer afford luxuries like air conditioning after the Wall Street collapse of 1929 and businesses like Carrier took a hit. Carrier did not give up on his goals, however, and made some deals to ensure that his company remained viable. Eventually, Carrier Engineering Corporation merged with Brunswick-Kroeschell Company along with York Heating and Ventilating Corporation to create a brand new company called Carrier Corporation. Willis Carrier became the chairman of this new organization, which would grow to become one of the most prominent employers in central New York State. Carrier’s Legacy Willis Carrier attached his name to every product that his company made because he believed in the quality of these items. His air conditioners were state of the art back in the early 1900s and they remain that way to this day. The company remains at the forefront of developing new technologies for their Carrier air conditioners and making sure that people have the ability to keep their...
